Expert opinion on the proposal to ban kratom
An effective solution to the market for kratom and similar substances with low health and social hazards is the introduction of smart rational regulation in the sense of introducing a new category of substances (so-called psychomodulatory substances), which will be unavailable to children and adolescents, their sale will be regulated, the products will be properly labeled, information about dosage and possible risks will be provided on them, and their quality will be controlled.

An effective solution to the market for kratom and similar substances with low health and social hazards is the introduction of smart rational regulation in the sense of introducing a new category of substances (so-called psychomodulatory substances), which will be unavailable to children and adolescents, their sale will be regulated, the products will be properly labeled, information about dosage and possible risks will be provided on them, and their quality will be controlled.
The proposal for the regulation of psychomodulatory substances has been prepared, a number of experts, legislators and lawyers participated in it. It needs to be adopted and put into practice.
